"We wanted to present some hard-hitting docs that would make you look at the food system with a more informed perspective, one that might make you reconsider one part of how you approach it. "Yes, there are films on farming and plants, but moving well past that, there are films on climate change, large-scale feedlots, immigrant farm workers, farm sanctuaries, toxic algae, food insecurity, cultivated meat and the list trails on." LIA RINALDO - "As with most of our themes, when you start digging into the research, the theme develops and expands once you realize how much an idea like this actually touches every part of the conceivable food chain." We asked Michael Howell and Managing Director Lia Rinaldo a few questions about this year's festival: Howell said given Devour!'s history ascribing to the principles of Slow Food and celebrating farmers and the growing plant-forward movement, they "decided to go for it."
